Family Frights is not the regular Realm of Terror with fewer actors. The attraction is deliberately reprogrammed into a daytime family Halloween experience.
The show changes.
Lighting changes. Effects change. The soundtrack changes. A friendly monster escorts your group through the attraction while kids hunt for candy instead of waiting for actors to jump out at them.
Then they adopt a monster.
At the end of the adventure, kids get to choose a stuffed monster to take home. That turns the trip through the haunted house into a story with a payoff rather than just a toned-down walkthrough.
Parents still know their kids best.
The underlying attraction is still a haunted house, so some spooky imagery remains. The event is designed for families, but parents should still use their judgment for especially sensitive children.
